Awakening    the    Sacred    through    Literature    and    the    Arts    Conference    with    Laurence    Freeman    OSB    
8 July, 2017: 11.00- 11.50 Sasha Grishin: Paths of Revelation through Meditation on the Iconography of Russian and Byzantine Icons.

    Awakening the Sacred is the fifth in a series of conferences presented by The Sacred in Literature and the Arts (SLA) community of interest at ACU that brings Australian and international writers, artists, musicians, academics, religious and members of the general public together to discuss the interplay between the arts and the sacred.  Previous conferences have included Writing the Sacred (2012), Addressing the Sacred (2013), Sounding the Sacred (2014) and Grounding the Sacred (2015).

    Sasha  Grishin  AM, FAHA is the author of more than 25 books on art, including Australian Art: A History, and has served as the art critic for The Canberra Times for forty years. He is an Emeritus Professor  at the Australian National University, Canberra; Guest Curator at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; and Honorary Principal Fellow, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Melbourne.
